Every Street Swell longboard is hand built to our own exacting specifications. We search for exotic hard woods that make these boards look like no others, no plywood here. The top deck is sanded and fiber glassed using 4oz cloth. Both sides are then finished with an automotive quality 2-part acrylic polyurethane (top sand is applied between coats for permanent grip). The bottom is then buffed to a high gloss sheen with 3m polishing compounds and rotary buffers. The fiberglass offers superb strength and flexibility (shatter resistance and liveliness). The acrylic polyurethane is completely water and chemical proof, high build, flexible, has extreme lifespan and resilience to the elements. This combination of finish technologies creates the best exterior coating in the industry to insure years of beauty and durability.
